Create a Tenant Admin User in Symphony

When you create a new tenant in Symphony, you're creating an isolated work area for specific clients, departments, or lines of business. After creating the tenant, you'll need to define one or more Admin users to manage the tenant resources.

As part of setting up the tenant in Visual Data Discovery, you added one or more Admin users to the tenant. You'll need to add the same users as Admin users in Symphony.

Create a New Admin User for the Tenant

Create your new user associated with the tenant, then add them to the Tenant Administrator's group for that tenant.

Create the new Admin user for your tenant in Managed Dashboards and Reports:

  1. Log in to Symphony as a system Admin user and open the Managed Dashboards work area. Your main dashboards work area opens.

  2. Select Profile > Administration from the main menu. The Symphony Overview work area opens, including an expanded main menu with administration options.

  3. Select Account Service > Accounts. The Accounts work area opens.

  4. Create the new Admin user by selecting Add New. An Add account modal opens.

  5. Select the appropriate Tenant name from the list of tenants.

  6. Add the same Name and Password for this user as you defined in Visual Data Discovery. If these are not identical, your Admin user can't administer this tenant.

  7. Select Save to create this user account. Symphony returns a success message, and you are returned to the Accounts work area.

Add the Admin user to the Tenant Administrator's group:

  1. Select the user in the user list, and select Edit to edit this user account. The <user> account details work area opens.

  2. Scroll to the Other section, and select Member of. The Member of work area opens.

  3. Scroll or search the groups the user doesn't belong to in the Become a member of work area.

  4. Select (check) the group Tenant Administrators (<tenant-name>).

  5. Select Save. Symphony returns a success message, and you are returned to the <user> account details work area.

  6. Select Save. Symphony returns a success message, and you are returned to the Accounts work area.

Next, create the tenant project and set up access to the data discovery connector, and create users within the tenant.
