Edit Security Permissions for a Note

All users with the Note privilege can add and reply to notes on a dashboard or on any other view that they have access to.

If you select the custom permissions option when adding a note, or decide to update security permissions later, you can use the Security work area to define who can see the note.

To edit the security permissions of a new note

  1. Select the custom permissions option while creating a new note.

  2. Select Apply to apply your selection. The Security work area opens.

  3. The work area displays a list of accounts and groups you can edit. Select each account or group, as needed, to edit its permissions.

  4. Select Submit to apply your changes to this note.

To edit the security permissions of an existing note

  1. Open a visualization that contains the note you want to edit security permissions for.

  2. Hover over the note to open its popup with note details, then select the menu icon in the bottom right corner. A note menu opens.

  3. Select Properties, then select the Security option. The Security work area opens.

  4. The work area displays a list of accounts and groups you can edit. Select each account or group, as needed, to edit its permissions.

  5. Select Submit to apply your changes to this note.
