Correct a Value

This applies to: Managed Dashboards, Managed Reports

You can correct measure values where they are visualized in a dashboard or another view, or if you have the metric set checked out to you.

To correct a value:

  1. If you're editing a dashboard or other type of view, select View mode in the toolbar. The View mode opens.

  2. Right click the measure value you want to correct. The context menu opens.

    You can select the position on a chart where you want the data point to move to insert the corresponding value into the measure value bar.

  3. Select Correct Value. The measure value bar opens below the main toolbar.
  4. Enter the new value for the selected measure value.

  5. After you've entered your value correction, select the padlock icon to change who can see the correction. Cycle through the options to select the one you need.

    • Select public to make viewable to all users.
    • Select private to make viewable only to you. Useful for private analysis and what-if scenarios.
  6. Optionally, select advanced to include your own comment for this correction.

  7. Select Apply to add the correction.

The value correction is applied to the actual data and visualized, but also marked with a note. Any user that sees this value correction can hover over the note to see its details in a popup, including the user that made the change and what the original value was.

View corrections in a different visualization for this metric set

  1. Open the metric set in another visualization, or right-click the visualization then select Re-Visualize.

  2. Select a different visualization from the available options.

  3. Hover your pointer over the correction (and note, if applicable) to view the correction (and note, if applicable) you just created.
